Tottenham Hotspur defender Kota Takai has joined Belgian Pro League side Sint-Truidense VV on loan for the remainder of the 2026/27 season.

The Japan international was signed by Spurs from J1 League club Kawasaki Frontale in the summer of 2025. This is his second consecutive loan spell away from Tottenham.

Takai spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach, making his Bundesliga debut against FC Augsburg on 11 January and going on to make eight appearances in the German top flight.

The 23-and-under-eligible defender won the Asian Under-23 Cup and represented Japan at the 2024 Olympics. He has earned four senior international caps to date.
