Argentine goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli described his first public appearance as a Manchester City player as a strong beginning, after joining from Ligue 1 side Marseille earlier in the week.
Rulli appeared alongside fellow summer signing Elliot Anderson at an open training session at the Joie Stadium, where he spoke to supporters for the first time since completing his move to Manchester.
"It's wonderful to meet all the people, the fans and all the young kids also who scored a few goals," Rulli said. "For me it's a real nice start. The guys gave me a really good atmosphere to come in to."
The goalkeeper also touched on the tradition of Argentine players at City, citing Carlos Tevez and Sergio Agüero as figures he grew up watching — including Agüero's famous last-gasp title-winning goal against Queens Park Rangers in 2012.
Rulli revealed that current Argentina international Julian Alvarez, a former City player, encouraged him to make the switch. "In the moment I told him I have the chance to come here, he said go, it's one of the best clubs in the world you will enjoy it a lot," Rulli said.
City open their 2026/27 Premier League season under new head coach Enzo Maresca, who has taken over from Pep Guardiola.
