Chelsea midfielder Wieke Kaptein has lifted the lid on life at Cobham, revealing squad habits and personalities in a candid question-and-answer session.

Kaptein named Maika Hamano as the player most likely to arrive earliest for training, adding that she and Aggie Beever-Jones also tend to be among the first on the pitch. "Maika and I are always early, and Aggie too, to be honest," she said.

On the subject of noise levels, Kaptein singled out Ellie Carpenter and the pairing of Alyssa Thompson and Naomi Girma. "Alyssa and Nay when they're together" were highlighted as particularly loud, though Kaptein admitted she and Beever-Jones contribute their share.

Kaptein said she always sits next to Beever-Jones on away trips. Last season she occupied a matchday seat between Sandy Baltimore and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, though she noted that arrangement may change in the new campaign.

For the most active Chelsea player on social media, Kaptein pointed to Thompson, while she reserved particular praise for Sjoeke Nusken's versatility. "She can play anywhere," Kaptein said when asked which defender or midfielder would make the best striker.

The Dutch midfielder also revealed a pre-match ritual: the last thing she does before walking out of the tunnel is check her phone's home screen to see a photo of her family. After the final whistle, her first message goes to her brothers.
