Tottenham's upcoming Premier League trip to Brentford on Saturday (5.30pm UK) has prompted the club to revisit one of the most memorable recent moments from the fixture — Christian Eriksen's first appearance in front of the Spurs away end after his cardiac arrest.

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020 — delayed a year due to COVID — and returned to professional football by joining Brentford from Inter. The April 2022 meeting at the Gtech Community Stadium marked his first encounter with the Spurs supporters since leaving the club.

The away end greeted the Danish midfielder with chants of "Erik-sen-sen-sen" throughout the match. After the final whistle, Eriksen walked over to the Spurs corner of the ground and applauded the travelling support, who responded with a thumbs-up from the former fan favourite.

Eriksen spent seven years at Tottenham between 2013 and 2020, making 305 appearances and scoring 69 goals across all competitions, establishing himself as one of the club's most influential midfielders of the modern era.
