Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has offered a candid look behind the scenes at the club's Cobham training ground, singling out Wesley Fofana as the squad's biggest personality.
Asked who the biggest joker in the squad is, Colwill did not hesitate. "For me, Wesley Fofana," he said, adding that the French defender also takes the title of loudest squad member.
Colwill named Romeo Lavia as the player teammates should follow on social media. "Yeah, it's Lav, for sure," the England international said.
On matchdays, Colwill revealed he sits next to Morgan and Jamie Gittens in the dressing room. Away trips are spent alongside the English contingent at the club — a group he also names as his usual lunch companions at Cobham, listing Welbs, Morgs, Cole, Reece and Hendo.
After training, Colwill keeps things simple. "Sit on my sofa and put the TV on, put my feet up," he said. After matches, his phone is invariably already filled with messages from his parents.
When asked which outfield player would make the best goalkeeper, Colwill again pointed to Fofana. "I feel like he's just a bundle of energy and he'd actually enjoy it. He's a bit crazy, like goalies!"
On who among defenders or midfielders would make the best striker, the answer was unequivocal. "Me, for sure. 100 per cent!"
Colwill, who joined Chelsea as a youth player, reflected on what has surprised him most during his time at the club. "Probably, growing up here and that, just the level of every age group and how it improves until you get to the first team. There's always improvements being made, so you can never rest on your laurels," he said.
