Chelsea have made four permanent signings in the 2026 summer transfer window, with England international Morgan Rogers the most prominent arrival. The club has also confirmed a series of academy contract extensions and loan moves.
Rogers joined from Aston Villa in July 2026 on a contract until 2033. The forward has earned 22 caps for England, including appearances at this summer's World Cup, and had established himself as one of the Premier League's leading attacking players.
Italian international Marco Palestra was Chelsea's first signing of the summer, arriving on a permanent deal from Atalanta in early July on a contract through to 2033. Portuguese winger Geovany Quenda, whose move was first announced in March 2025, completed his transfer from Sporting Lisbon this summer on a deal until 2034.
The fourth permanent arrival is 18-year-old Harrison Bettoni, signed from Wigan Athletic on a contract until 2030. Bettoni made 27 appearances for the Latics last season, scoring four goals.
On the departures side, Spain international Marc Cucurella left for Real Madrid after four seasons at Stamford Bridge. During his time at the club he won the Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League, and was part of the Spain squad that won Euro 2024.
Midfielder Andrey Santos completed a permanent transfer to Manchester United. The Brazilian made 47 appearances for Chelsea over three seasons and earned full international caps for Brazil during that period.
Winger Tyrique George made his loan move to Everton permanent, leaving after 37 senior appearances for the club. Jimmy-Jay Morgan joined Championship side West Bromwich Albion permanently after impressing on loan at Peterborough last season.
Argentina international Alejandro Garnacho, who scored eight goals in 43 appearances in his first season at Stamford Bridge, joined Aston Villa on loan for the 2026/27 campaign.
Several academy players also departed permanently, including Frankie Runham to Ipswich Town and Joseph Wheeler-Henry to Brentford, both of whom had spent loan spells at their respective new clubs. Chris Atherton joined Ipswich Town, while Brodi Hughes, Richard Olise, Sam Rak-Sakyi and Jimi Tauriainen also left the club.
Among loan moves out, defender Harrison Murray-Campbell will spend the season at KV Kortrijk in the Belgian first division, while Kaiden Wilson joins newly-promoted League Two side Rochdale. Goalkeeper Max Merrick joins Hartlepool United of the National League on his third loan away from Stamford Bridge.
Academy players Toby Bell, Jesse Derry, Sol Gordon, Ollie Harrison, Charlie Holland, Justin Osagie and Dante Waite all signed new contracts with the club. Derry will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at Sporting Lisbon as part of his new deal.
