Stuart Lewis has departed Tottenham Hotspur to take up a coaching position at Ipswich Town. Lewis served most recently as First Team Academy Transition Coach at Spurs, a role he had held since the start of the 2025/26 season.
"I would like to thank everyone at the Club for their support and for allowing me to pursue this fantastic opportunity at Ipswich Town, which enables me to fulfil my ambition of coaching in the Premier League," Lewis said in a statement. "I leave with immense pride, gratitude and lifelong memories."
Lewis first joined Tottenham as a teenager in 2004, progressing through the academy before embarking on a senior playing career that included spells at Barnet, Stevenage, Gillingham, Dagenham & Redbridge and Wycombe Wanderers. He accumulated over 200 appearances across the Football League, FA Cup and League Cup.
He returned to Spurs as a part-time coach in 2015. After retiring from non-league football, he was appointed full-time Under-16s coach in 2019 and Under-18s coach in 2021.
Lewis guided Tottenham's Under-17s and Under-18s to a Premier League Cup double in 2022/23, and repeated the feat with the Under-17s in April 2025.
During his time in charge of youth and transition coaching, several academy players made their first-team debuts under his oversight, including Jamie Donley, Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear, Alfie Dorrington, Callum Olusesi, Damola Ajayi, Luca Williams-Barnett, Jun'ai Byfield and James Rowswell.
