Arsenal loanee Tommy Setford kept his first clean sheet of the season as Stevenage beat Wigan Athletic 1-0 in League One on Sunday.
Setford had appeared in three consecutive league matches prior to the fixture, picking up wins over Luton and Barnsley before a defeat at Leyton Orient. Wanya Marcal scored the only goal on 60 minutes, and Setford was rarely tested, making just one save throughout.
The result lifts Stevenage to ninth in League One, three points off the top six, with three wins from their last four matches. Setford's next assignment is a trip to second-placed Bradford City, who have lost just twice all season.
In Germany, Ethan Nwaneri started his fourth consecutive Bundesliga match as Borussia Dortmund were held to a 2-2 draw by Werder Bremen at Westfalenstadion. Nwaneri came close to scoring twice but was denied on both occasions by former Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein.
Nwaneri was substituted on 63 minutes. Dortmund appeared to be heading for a fourth straight win after Daniel Svensson and Nico Schlotterbeck netted in the 80th and 85th minutes, but Bremen struck back through Ludovit Reis in the 88th minute and former West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug in the 92nd minute.
The result drops Dortmund to second in the Bundesliga, with Freiburg moving top on goal difference. Bayern Munich sit two points behind Dortmund.
In Scotland, Ismeal Kabia started for St Mirren in a heavy 5-0 home defeat against Hearts, making it six consecutive league starts. Goals from Laurent Mendy, Claudio Braga, Josh McPake and two Calvin Miller penalties secured the win for Hearts. Kabia was replaced on 67 minutes, and St Mirren have now lost four league games in a row.
In Sweden, Charles Sagoe Jr returned to league action with Kalmar against Malmo at the Eleda Stadion after the mid-season break. Kalmar sit just three points above the relegation zone following four consecutive defeats.
Sophie Harwood, Jessie Gale and Cecily Wellesley-Smith were all unavailable for their respective clubs due to international duty with the women's national team.
