Arsenal defender William Saliba has been ruled out for an extended period after specialist reviews confirmed a back injury sustained during World Cup duty, the club announced on July 22.
Saliba returned to London this week following France's run to the semi-finals of the tournament, where he played a prominent role throughout the campaign.
Extensive assessments have concluded that surgery is not required. The 23-year-old will instead begin a managed rehabilitation programme immediately.
No return date has been given, with Arsenal stating only that Saliba is expected to be sidelined for an extended period while his recovery is continually monitored.
