Phil Foden has extended his contract with Manchester City until 2030, keeping the academy graduate at the club for more than 20 years in total. Foden first joined City at Under-9s level and has developed into one of the squad's most experienced players under new head coach Enzo Maresca.
The 26-year-old is one of the most decorated players in City's history. He has won 20 major trophies at the club, level with Bernardo Silva and John Stones, including six Premier League titles, five League Cups, three FA Cups, three Community Shields, one Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup.
Foden has scored 110 goals for City across all competitions, making him one of only 20 players to reach that mark in the club's 132-year history. Among the current squad, only Erling Haaland, with 162 goals, has scored more. Foden has also recorded 68 assists in a City shirt.
His most productive season came in 2023/24, when he netted 27 times across all competitions and won the Premier League Player of the Season, PFA Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year awards.
Foden has made 369 appearances for City and currently ranks 25th in the club's all-time list. If he maintains his average of 48 appearances per season, he is projected to reach 14th place by the end of the 2026/27 campaign.
Until the new season begins, Pep Guardiola remains the only manager Foden has worked under at club level. Foden was first named on the bench for a Champions League tie against Celtic in December 2016, aged 16, before making his debut the following November in a 1-0 win over Feyenoord at the Etihad Stadium.
Foden has scored three hat-tricks for City. The first came in a 6-3 home win over Manchester United in 2022/23. The second and third followed in quick succession during the 2023/24 run-in — away at Brentford in February and at home against Aston Villa in April.
