Manchester City host Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday in the opening Premier League fixture of the 2026/27 season, with a 14:00 (UK) kick-off. City's overall record against the Cherries in the top flight reads 16 wins from 18 meetings.
City have won all nine Premier League home games against Bournemouth, scoring 34 goals and conceding six — an average of 3.8 goals per game, their highest home average against any single opponent.
The most recent meeting ended 1-1 at Bournemouth on 19 May 2026, the only draw between the sides in the Premier League. Junior Kroupi opened the scoring for the hosts before Erling Haaland equalised with around 90 seconds remaining. The dropped points confirmed Arsenal as Premier League champions and the game proved to be Pep Guardiola's final away match in charge of City.
On 2 November 2025, City won 3-1 at home. Haaland scored twice, with his opener set up by a Rayan Cherki header, and Nico O'Reilly added a third in the second half after Tyler Adams had briefly levelled for Bournemouth.
City's final home game of 2024/25, a 3-1 win on 20 May 2025, was marked by Kevin De Bruyne's farewell after a decade at the club. Omar Marmoush opened with a 30-yard strike that won Goal of the Season, before Bernardo Silva and O'Reilly also scored. Daniel Jebbison replied for Bournemouth.
In an FA Cup tie on 30 March 2025, City came from behind to win 2-1 at Bournemouth. Evanilson put the hosts ahead after Haaland missed a first-half penalty. O'Reilly, introduced at the break, set up Haaland to equalise before teeing up Omar Marmoush to score the winner beneath Kepa Arrizabalaga.
City's only Premier League defeat to Bournemouth came on 2 November 2024, a 2-1 loss that formed part of a difficult run in the autumn and winter of 2024/25. Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson scored for the hosts, with Josko Gvardiol's header providing only consolation for City.
