Liverpool touched down in Chicago on Monday to begin their 2026 pre-season tour of the United States, the club's first visit to the city since 2014. A 31-player squad boarded their flight from John Lennon Airport in Liverpool for the roughly eight-hour transatlantic journey to the Midwest.

Manager Andoni Iraola's squad arrived at their hotel near Lake Michigan on Monday evening. After a meal, the players completed a stretching session to recover from the flight, followed by a short walk in the area.

Midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai provided one of the day's notable moments when he shared an elevator with a Liverpool-supporting family staying at the same hotel. The Hungarian international agreed to photographs with the group, with the mother later noting it was also her birthday. "It's my lucky day," she said.

Earlier in the day, Federico Chiesa, Curtis Jones and Szoboszlai were spotted playing card games during the flight with younger squad members including Luke Chambers, Bailey Hall and Will Wright.

On Tuesday morning, Jones drew a reaction of his own when a supporter encountered the squad during a walk toward Lake Michigan. "Curtis Jones, what the hell!" the fan exclaimed upon spotting the midfielder, prompting laughter from Jones and his teammates.

Iraola was scheduled to address the media at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon ahead of a training session. Liverpool are set to play three matches during their USA pre-season tour.
