Erling Haaland is fit and available for Manchester City's Premier League trip to Liverpool on Sunday, manager Enzo Maresca confirmed at his Friday press conference.

Haaland had been substituted as a precaution during Norway's UEFA Nations League defeat to Portugal earlier this month, raising doubts about his availability for the resumption of domestic action at Anfield.

"He's good. He went to Marbella, [had] two, three days off, played golf, recovery," Maresca told reporters. "Ready for Anfield. He's good, thank you."

Maresca added that the international break had been a positive reset for the squad overall. "The players were thinking again about their national team, some days off and then go again. It was good [to see him again]."

Phil Foden will not travel to Merseyside, however. The England international is still serving a ban following his sending off in City's 1-0 Premier League win at Manchester United last month.

Sunday's fixture at Anfield is City's first top-flight match since the extended international break that spanned both September and October.
