James Garner has had surgery to resolve a groin problem identified during Everton's pre-season preparations. The midfielder is now in rehabilitation at Finch Farm and his recovery is described as progressing as expected.
Everton are targeting Garner's return to first-team training around the opening week of the Premier League season, though that timeline remains subject to his continued progress.
Tyler Dibling will miss the club's pre-season fixture against Bolton after picking up a minor knock. He is expected to be available for the midweek match against Stoke City.
Summer signing Hayden Hackney, who is recovering from an injury sustained at the end of last season, continues to be integrated into squad training. Hackney is also expected to feature against Stoke.
