Everton extended their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a 2-2 draw at Hull City, in a frantic second half that twice saw the visitors surrender the lead.

Hull, impressive since their top-flight return, went ahead three minutes after the restart when Joe Gelhardt lifted a finish over Jordan Pickford after capitalising on a loose touch from Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalised on 55 minutes, heading home Maitland-Niles' cross to score Hull's first home concession of the season. Dewsbury-Hall then turned provider 13 minutes later, his interception setting up Thierno Barry to blast his sixth goal of the campaign beyond Konstantinos Tzolakis.

Substitute Mohamed Belloumi restored parity with 16 minutes remaining, converting a square pass from Elliot Stroud after the pair combined on the left byline to make it 2-2.

Everton had earlier seen a goal ruled out on 34 minutes when VAR judged Johnson offside as Armstrong's blocked shot bounced into the net. Hull's Nobel Mendy also headed over from six yards in first-half stoppage time.

Manager David Moyes used all five substitutions, introducing attackers Tyrique George, Charly Alcaraz and Tyler Dibling as Everton pressed for a winner that did not come. The point moves Everton to 10 points for the season.
