Chelsea held an open training session at Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong on Monday evening, drawing more than 15,000 supporters ahead of Wednesday's pre-season fixture against Juventus.
Kick-off against the Serie A club is scheduled for 7.30pm local time (12.30pm UK), with tickets still available and the match streaming live on CFC+.
Head coach Xabi Alonso addressed reporters before the session and acknowledged progress within the squad, while noting that more work remains before Chelsea open their Premier League campaign at Craven Cottage on 25 August.
Alonso confirmed that Mykhailo Mudryk and Danny Welbeck, two of six players who joined the tour group in Hong Kong on Monday, are available for selection across the three remaining pre-season fixtures. "He came directly from the airport to the hotel," Alonso said of Mudryk. "Yesterday was more about the feelings, the emotions to be back with the team more than assessing the fitness level. He could play, maybe 90 minutes too early, but he can be selected. He is selected so he can play."
Mudryk is back in training with Chelsea for the first time since December 2024. Welbeck also took part in the session alongside summer signing Geovany Quenda.
Goalkeepers Mike Penders, who represented Belgium at the World Cup, and Gabriel Slonina joined squad drills after linking up with the group this week.
Midfielder Moises Caicedo, who had rejoined the squad during the Sydney leg of the tour, also spoke to the press and praised the reception in Hong Kong. "The people have been great; we feel like we are at home," said the Ecuador international. "Everyone here has been very kind. It's my first time here and I feel at home. So to the fans, I want to say thank you for the support and for supporting us even with the time difference, because I don't think it's easy for you to watch us in the Premier League. We really appreciate it because we feel and realise the supporters here give everything for us. So I say thank you."
