Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says his squad is ready to go again as the club prepares for a Carabao Cup third-round trip to Ipswich Town on Tuesday — their third competition in as many weeks.

The Gunners have moved quickly through fixtures in recent days, beating Chelsea before travelling to Naples in the Champions League and then heading to Sunderland at the weekend.

"We'll look at the players' eyes and they will say they want to play, and 'I want to win a game, and I want to improve,'" Arteta said. "They will review the [Sunderland] game, and they will be willing for more because I know the boys."

The Carabao Cup has served as a platform for Arsenal's younger players in previous seasons. Last year, 16-year-old Max Dowman was handed his first senior start in a 2-0 fourth-round victory over Brighton.

Dowman has yet to feature for the first team this season, but Arteta indicated the teenager's opportunity is coming. "He will have his chance," the Spaniard said. "He will have his minutes, and he will have to earn them like anybody else. We know the talent that we have, we need to help him and find a way to make sure that he continues to develop and help the team."
