Ben Davies captained Wales to a 2-1 victory over Norway in Cardiff on Thursday, earning his 103rd international cap in the UEFA Nations League A Group 4 fixture.
Micky van de Ven also featured as the Netherlands came from 2-0 down at half-time to draw 2-2 away to Greece in Group 2.
In Cardiff, Dan James cancelled out Oscar Bobb's 38th-minute opener before Norway's Torbjorn Heggem was sent off just 20 seconds into the second half for pulling down James outside the box. Neco Williams converted the resulting free-kick to give Wales the win.
The result marked Wales' first victory over a higher-ranked opponent under manager Craig Bellamy and their first-ever Nations League A win at the ninth attempt. Wales remain bottom of Group 4 but are level on three points with Denmark and Norway; Portugal lead the group on nine points. Wales host Denmark on Sunday.
In Athens, Fotis Ioannidis and Giorgos Masouras put Greece 2-0 ahead at the break. Virgil van Dijk pulled one back for the Netherlands before a Denzel Dumfries effort was ruled out by VAR for offside. Tijani Reijnders levelled in the 89th minute to earn the Dutch a point. Greece top Group 2, with the Netherlands second; the Dutch host Serbia on Sunday.
Davies and Van de Ven both played the full 90 minutes. Jan Paul van Hecke did not travel with the Dutch squad, while Kevin Danso — on loan at Sunderland — was suspended for Austria's 2-2 draw with Ireland in Dublin.
Earlier on Thursday, Spurs youngsters Toju Wellspring and George Jobling played the full game as England Under-17s beat Venezuela 1-0 in Duisburg. The result was England's second successive win in a four-team tournament in Germany, following a victory over Israel. Brentford's Jai Nwosu scored the only goal; Spurs goalkeeper Mikel Jack was an unused substitute.
