Christos Tzolis scored and Martin Odegaard provided two assists as several players featured in the opening round of UEFA Nations League fixtures on Thursday.

Tzolis, who joined Arsenal from Club Brugge in the summer, came off the bench to equalise for Greece against Serbia in Belgrade. With Greece trailing to Andrija Zivkovic's early goal, the winger fired into the bottom corner with 16 minutes remaining to bring his international tally to 10 goals. Anastasios Douvikas then scored deep in stoppage time to seal a 2-1 victory for Greece.

Odegaard was equally influential as Norway defeated Denmark 3-2 in Oslo. The Arsenal captain set up Oscar Bobb after 14 minutes before Erling Haaland made it 2-0 inside the opening 20 minutes. Mikkel Damsgaard and Rasmus Hojlund pulled Denmark level before Odegaard delivered his second assist, finding Haaland to clinch the win.

Kai Havertz started for Germany in their 1-1 draw with the Netherlands but was substituted after just 30 minutes through injury. Cody Gakpo equalised late on for the Netherlands after Felix Nmecha had opened the scoring. Jurrien Timber was not selected in the Dutch squad by new coach Xavi.

Academy player James Scanlon started for Gibraltar in a 0-0 draw with Sao Tome and Principe, playing the first 45 minutes at Europa Point. It was his first international break since joining Arsenal from Manchester United in the summer.
