Chelsea drew 2-2 with Hull City in Saturday's Premier League match, and Brazilian forward Joao Pedro said the side must fix small errors quickly to avoid further dropped points.
"I think we started really well," said Joao Pedro. "We put pressure on them, we controlled the game, but we need to improve on the details because I think in the end, this point is very important for us. So we need to analyse and improve."
Morgan Rogers put Chelsea ahead in the seventh minute after being set up by Joao Pedro on the edge of the box. Two rapid Hull goals turned the match around before Joao Pedro equalised, smashing the ball into the roof of the net from a low Cole Palmer cross. Chelsea could not find a winner.
"When Cole passed to me I just tried to hit it on target and I was very happy to hit a good shot," the striker said.
The draw left Joao Pedro — named Premier League Player of the Month for August — with three goals and three assists from four league appearances this season. He stressed the urgency of adapting to Premier League demands.
"We have to adapt quickly, as soon as possible, because we know how the Premier League is. If you drop points, in the end it will be difficult to recover," he said.
Joao Pedro also addressed the comparison drawn by Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid and France legend Karim Benzema, citing similarities in their deeper, link-up style of play.
"But, of course, Benzema is on another level," he said. "I just try to enjoy every game and try to help my team with goals or assists. I'm in a very good moment and I'm very happy."
