Chelsea sign versatile youngster Leo Black until 2028

Chelsea have signed 20-year-old Leo Black on a contract until 2028, with the defender and midfielder joining the club following a successful trial.

Black is a versatile player capable of operating at full-back and in midfield, and has previously represented England at Under-18 and Under-19 level.

The signing follows a promising start to the season for Black at Chelsea Cobham Next Gen. He featured in the 5-4 win over West Ham in August and went on to score in victories against Arsenal and Fulham ahead of the international break.

His early form earned Black a nomination for the PL2 Player of the Month award for September 2026.
