Mathys Tel has been named Tottenham's October Goal of the Month by supporters for his strike at Stamford Bridge. The goal capped a 2-0 win over Chelsea in west London.

Tel's late finish came after a dominant performance. Tottenham had gone ahead 20 minutes from time when Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders punched the ball into his own net. The Blues were then reduced to 10 men after Cole Palmer was sent off.

Tel won the ball inside his own half, ran 40 yards with it and drove the finish into the corner of the net. The club described it as a stunning goal that "really summed up the occasion and our performance at the Bridge."

The goal was Tel's first of the season, coming in his seventh appearance. Tottenham sit ninth in the table with 12 points from nine matches.
