Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi said on Friday that his side must stay together ahead of Saturday's Premier League match at Leeds United's Elland Road, which kicks off at 12.30pm UK.
De Zerbi confirmed that Savio, Bergvall and Mudryk are unavailable, while Tosin is back in the squad after rejoining the group on Thursday. Asked about the upcoming fixture, he described Elland Road as one of the best stadiums in the league and pointed to the atmosphere created by the home supporters.
Tottenham are ninth in the table with 12 points from nine matches, while Leeds sit 12th with 11 points. De Zerbi said his side had been playing well and were picking up points in a row, but he warned against losing focus on the early-season struggles.
On team unity, De Zerbi said the group's collective approach mattered most to him. “We need to think in a collective way. This is crucial for us,” he said, adding that the players themselves had driven the decision to attend matches while injured.
Asked about 18-year-old Luca Williams-Barnett, who featured at the weekend, De Zerbi said the young midfielder must learn from experienced team-mates such as Robertson, Maddison and Ben Davies. He added that the coach was responsible for finding the right moment for such young players to play.
On his own forwards, De Zerbi said Omar Marmoush and Dominic Solanke bring different qualities and can play together, but that both need to rebuild their confidence and improve their physical condition.
