City are the holders of the competition, having beaten Arsenal 2-0 in last season's final. They reached the last eight after wins over Norwich City and Brighton & Hove Albion, and have lifted the trophy nine times in their history.
Bradford have knocked out Rochdale, Burnley, Leyton Orient and Peterborough to reach this stage. The Bantams are in the thick of the League One promotion race and sit just outside the play-off places on goal difference.
City are second in the table with 21 points from nine matches, according to the club's season record.
The last meeting between the clubs came in March 2002, when goals from Darren Huckerby and Jon Macken secured a 2-0 win for City at Valley Parade. Ticket information for the tie will be released in due course.
