Liverpool FC is using its traditional Christmas campaign to deliver what the club calls football's biggest ever "thank you" to its fans, connecting with more than 450 million supporters locally and globally.
The campaign message, "To the world's greatest fans, nice one", is the most extensive undertaken by the club in its 134-year history, according to the club. It is a multimedia, multi-market initiative devised by Liverpool.
The campaign is spearheaded by a film in 60- and 30-second versions, titled Dear Reds, which features Liverpool stars including Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister, Alisson Becker and Florian Wirtz. The players express their gratitude, concluding: "This club doesn't belong to us. But we're honoured to represent it. And it's an honour to play for you. To the world's greatest fans, nice one."
Van Dijk, the men's captain, said: "It's an honour and a privilege to play for our fans, whether they're in Anfield or watching from the other side of the world." He added: "Putting them front and centre of our Christmas campaign is a fantastic way to thank them for being there, through the good times and the challenges."
Women's skipper Grace Fisk said: "It's wonderful to be able to say thank you to our growing community of LFC Women supporters in this way." She added: "We're excited to continue this journey together and create many more special moments along the way. Nice one for being there for us week in, week out."
Hannah Pym, senior vice-president, marketing and digital at LFC, said the campaign reflects the club's growing influence. "With 'Nice One', we're putting the world's greatest fans at the heart of our Christmas campaign and delivering football's biggest ever thank you to the people who help make this club so special," she said.
A global campaign will also appear around Official Liverpool Supporters Club outpost locations in 24 cities in 16 countries, spanning five continents. The creative uses images and video captured by fans themselves.
Further fan activations and giveback gestures will be announced over the Christmas period, including events with club partners PayPal, Carlsberg and Expedia. Fans can also access Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals through the online store, the official LFC store app and official LFC stores in the UK and Ireland.
The global campaign will also align with the localised LFC Foundation Christmas Magic campaign, which aims to support families at a time of year that can be incredibly difficult for some. Last year it reached more families than ever before, with food support at its heart across the Liverpool City Region.
Fans can also take a free tour of the Liverpool FC Museum from now until November 30 when pre-booking online with the code "Nice One". The club has more than 227 million social media followers and was named the most-engaged club in the Premier League for the last three seasons in a row.
