Liverpool defender Jeremy Jacquet has said Saturday's trip to Brentford will be a "battle all over the field" as the Reds look to bounce back from their Premier League defeat to Manchester City.
The 21-year-old centre-back has started all six of Liverpool's league games this season and was named the club's player of the opening weeks of the 2026-27 campaign on Friday.
"It's going to be a big game for us," Jacquet told the club's official website. "The manager has already told us that it's going to be a battle all over the field. However, we've been working hard in training, even though time has been a bit short. And we will be ready for tomorrow."
Liverpool travel to Gtech Community Stadium having beaten LASK in the Champions League in midweek. Jacquet said the response shown in Austria now needs to be replicated in the league.
"I think that we've already shown how we can bounce back over in Austria but now it's important to get back to winning ways, this time in the Premier League," he said.
Jacquet, who was nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Month award in September, identified the physical nature of English football as its defining characteristic.
"I find that the biggest difference of all is the intensity of the duels and individual battles. Not the general intensity throughout the whole match but rather I'd say there are more one-on-one battles to contend with during the 90 minutes," he said.
The Frenchman also reflected on a landmark international window in which he made his senior debut for France, starting twice and drawing praise from coach Zinedine Zidane.
"It was a massive thing for me," said Jacquet. "Especially as I also got to make the starting XI, playing at home in the Stade de France. I don't think it gets much better really, for me as a Frenchman, than playing in front of your whole nation. It was a magical moment."
