Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola says Victor Munoz and Dominik Szoboszlai have a chance of being available for Sunday’s clash with Arsenal at Anfield. He gave an update on both players’ fitness at a press conference at the AXA Training Centre on Friday.

Asked about the pair, Iraola said: “I think they have a chance. They have a chance. But I don’t know for sure if they will be involved or not.” He added that there were still two days before kick-off.

Iraola said it was too early to focus on the table, where Liverpool would move within two points of Arsenal with a win. “I think it’s too early to start looking at the standings,” he said. He stressed the threat Arsenal pose, describing their players as very good and well drilled in working together.

Liverpool are fourth after eight matches and are on a run of five consecutive wins, though only two of those have come in the league. Iraola said the team still needs more league wins to recover points.

Iraola also described Arsenal as the team to beat, saying they are top of the league and have lost only one game this season. The match is scheduled for 4.30pm GMT at Anfield.
