Jordan Henderson has spoken about settling in at Chelsea, a few weeks after scoring twice on his home debut in a 5-1 win over Bournemouth.

The midfielder hit the net less than two minutes into that match and said the moment was hard to prepare for. "You can never prepare for stuff like that," he said. "It was quite emotional for me because I've been out for so long and then coming to start at Chelsea and having to wait a little bit."

Henderson added: "So it was a big moment for me personally, but it was just something that I'd dreamt of over the few months that I've been here… that I could get a good start, and thankfully it happened in the first couple of minutes."

He also discussed his midfield role under Xabi Alonso and his partnership with Moises Caicedo. "I think it's been a little bit different to what I've done in the past, playing a little bit of a double pivot with Moi," he said.

"But when you play with somebody like Moi, he makes it so easy. He's a world-class midfielder, probably one of the best in the world in his position. So for me it's trying to help him and have a good relationship with him as much as possible, and he's an incredible player to play with, which makes it easier for me."

The comments came in the matchday programme for Chelsea's game against Manchester United, which marks the club's 200th match against the Red Devils. The programme also pays tribute to Chelsea players who lost their lives in the two world wars ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
