Emery says Villa will focus on Fulham, not rival teams

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has told the media his side must concentrate on Saturday's Premier League match against Fulham at Villa Park, rather than looking further ahead. The game kicks off at 8pm and gives Villa the chance to secure a third successive league win.

Emery spoke at Bodymoor Heath on Friday. "The only focus is tomorrow, the match tomorrow," he said. Villa have 11 points from eight league games, while Fulham have 8, and Emery stressed the need for consistency.

Emery praised Fulham's recent performances and their head coach, Álvaro Arbeloa. "They are playing really well," Emery said. "Of course, (Álvaro) Arbeloa, he has experience in England. He played here, he has experience in football for a long time."

Emery said Villa's aim is to challenge the teams in the top six. "We are one of the teams, and last year, we achieved it. So, this is the target," he said.

The briefing also covered squad depth and Nicolas Jackson's form, with Emery saying the team's progress is a process that depends on keeping players fit and confident.
