Brentford welcome Liverpool to Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday sitting fourth in the Premier League on 10 points, having gone unbeaten in their opening six matches of the 2026-27 season.
Head coach Keith Andrews said his side would take a fearless approach to the game. "The way we approach games, we have a fearless way of playing. We want to earn the right to play; we have to do that against top opposition, which we're facing every week," Andrews said.
Brentford's two wins have both been 3-0 home victories — against Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea — while a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa last weekend extended their unbeaten Premier League run to eight games, the longest of any current top-flight side.
Vitaly Janelt has been central to Brentford's defensive solidity, playing every minute of their league campaign. The Germany international leads the division for interceptions with 20 and has attempted more passes than any other Brees player this term. Kevin Schade leads the attacking line with three goals in seven appearances.
Andrews acknowledged Liverpool's evolution under their new manager, a familiar face from his Bournemouth days. "You've got to stop them playing the game they want and you've got to try to imprint your game on them as much as possible," he said.
On the injury front, Kevin Schade and Jannik Schuster are expected to be available after being substituted against Villa. Nathan Collins, Mikkel Damsgaard and former Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg are described as "closer" to returning, while Josh Dasilva, Kaye Furo and Antoni Milambo remain sidelined.
The two clubs last met at Anfield on the final day of 2025-26, drawing 1-1. Liverpool's most recent visit to Gtech ended in a 3-2 defeat. The five Premier League meetings at the ground have produced 22 goals at an average of 4.4 per game.
