Bournemouth eliminated Aston Villa from the Carabao Cup with a convincing 3-0 win at Vitality Stadium on Wednesday, ending the visitors' seven-match unbeaten run.

Amine Adli opened the scoring in the seventh minute, slamming home from Julio Soler's looped cross. The hosts led 1-0 at the break despite Villa creating several chances of their own.

Lewis Cook doubled the advantage on 51 minutes, his mishit cross catching goalkeeper Marco Bizot out and squirming in at the near post. Álvaro Rodriguez added a third on 69 minutes, advancing after Tyler Adams won the ball high up the pitch before lashing past Bizot.

Villa manager Unai Emery made nine changes from the weekend's Premier League win over Manchester City, handing Leon Goretzka his first start. The rotation left the visitors short of cohesion, though substitute João Gomes provided moments of urgency in the second half.

Villa will now refocus on league duties, hosting Fulham at Villa Park on Saturday evening.
