Aston Villa and Brentford shared the points after a pulsating 2-2 draw at Villa Park on Saturday, with both sides twice taking the lead only to be pegged back.
Yehor Yarmoliuk opened the scoring for Brentford after ten minutes, driving a crisp shot from the edge of the area past Zion Suzuki. Nicolas Jackson responded swiftly, slotting home after a deflected Emi Buendía effort fell into his path.
John McGinn appeared to have settled the contest when he curled a shot into the far corner with 13 minutes remaining, sending the home crowd into jubilation. But Kristoffer Ajer, who had inadvertently helped McGinn's effort in, made amends almost immediately by galloping into the box and slotting an equaliser at the near post.
The result extends Villa's unbeaten run to three matches under Unai Emery. Attention now turns to Wednesday's Champions League fixture against Fenerbahçe.
Brentford arrived at Villa Park as one of four unbeaten sides through the first five games of the season. They leave with a point that preserves their unbeaten record, though Villa will feel they had enough chances to claim all three.
