Aston Villa collected maximum points for the second consecutive week, defeating both Viking and Manchester City across their latest fixtures.

Unai Emery's side maintained a perfect UEFA Champions League record with a 3-1 home win over Norwegian club Viking at Villa Park last Wednesday, moving to three wins from three in the league phase.

Villa then ended Manchester City's 100% Premier League start on Saturday, claiming a 2-1 victory in the early kick-off to climb to fourth successive win in all competitions.

Nicolas Jackson scored twice to drive the win over City, with Brian Madjo — making his Premier League debut — also featuring alongside the returning Ian Maatsen.

Ross Barkley opened the scoring against Viking, while Alysson's contribution forced an own-goal to seal the 3-1 result. The victory lifted Villa to second in the Champions League league phase standings.
