Arsenal in the Community is running a series of mental health support programmes across north London, timed to coincide with World Mental Health Day on 10 October.
The flagship initiative is Together Against Suicide, a matchday drop-in service at The Arsenal Hub delivered in partnership with the North London NHS Foundation Trust. The Premier League originally funded 11 clubs to run the scheme during the 2025/26 season; it has since been expanded to 20 clubs for 2026/27.
A North London NHS Foundation Trust practitioner will be available at The Arsenal Hub during every Arsenal Premier League home match, offering confidential conversations and guidance without an appointment. The service opens for the first time this season ahead of the Leeds fixture on Saturday, 10 October. The Hub, located at 56 Benwell Road, N7 7BA, is open from two hours before kick-off until one hour after full-time.
Arsenal in the Community also partners with Brandon Centre to provide therapeutic outreach sessions for young people at the Hub, alongside Arsenal Girls' Kicks — football sessions supported by a sports psychologist focused on emotional awareness and resilience.
A separate one-to-one mentoring scheme, Talking Tactics, has run since 2020 in partnership with Advantage Mentoring. The programme targets young people aged 11 to 21 experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges, with weekly sessions lasting up to six months at local football clubs.
The oldest of the programmes, the NLFT Mental Health Programme, has been running since 2010. It delivers weekly football sessions at The Arsenal Hub for adults living with mental health conditions, with Arsenal coaches working alongside a qualified NLFT practitioner.
