Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa is unavailable due to a muscle injury, manager Andoni Iraola has confirmed. The Italian missed the Reds' Premier League season-opener at Newcastle United last Sunday.

Iraola revealed the problem emerged during pre-season. "Fede is not available. In the [pre-season] game against Como he felt something at the back and it's a small muscle injury. He is not available," the manager said at his pre-Nottingham Forest press conference.

Church sustained the injury in a friendly against Como, ruling him out of Liverpool's opening fixture of the new Premier League campaign. No return date has been announced.
