Sjoeke Nusken scored Chelsea's second goal in a 3-0 pre-season victory over the A-League All-Stars at the Allianz Stadium, wrapping up the club's Australasian tour on a positive note.
The German midfielder converted with a composed finish to put Chelsea firmly in control, capping what manager Sonia Bompastor described as a productive ten-day trip.
"As a midfielder you need to go into the box, and I saw the ball coming and I just tried to hit it," Nusken said. "It was a little bit of luck I think that the ball went in! Overall it was a good game from the team. It was a nice way to end the tour here."
Nusken highlighted the value of the tour beyond the results, pointing to the team cohesion built during the camp and the reception from supporters in the region.
"It was really cool to see all the Chelsea fans here on the other side of the world, the atmospheres were really nice, and the support is amazing," she said. "We had two good opponents, two good games. We're happy. We can take the team performances into the next games. Everyone did really good. It's good to have these two games and to be around the team the whole time to build up our team cohesion."
