Jérémy Doku has extended his Manchester City contract until 2031 and expressed enthusiasm about working under new manager Enzo Maresca, whose attacking approach he says suits him well.

"The style of play is very attractive," Doku said after signing the extension. "Already when Enzo was at his previous clubs, I saw this style of play, and it really suits me with the wingers being very aggressive."

Doku noted that Maresca places heavy demands on his wide players to create danger, something the Belgian winger said he observed watching City's pre-season friendlies in South Korea. "He relies a lot on his wingers to bring danger, and when I watch the games, that's what they have been doing," he added.

The 2025/26 campaign ended in strong form for Doku, who contributed spectacular goals and chances for team-mates as City won two trophies and competed deep into the Premier League and Champions League. "Overall, it was a good season," he said, while stressing he wants to improve further.

"I just want to win everything, be competing in every trophy again, go as far as possible — and on a personal note, I just want to improve every year and be better than last season again."

Doku also paid tribute to departing manager Pep Guardiola, crediting him as a key figure in his development at the club. "I want to congratulate Pep for the years that I had with him. They were unbelievable and I learned so much," he said. "Being here now signing the new contract is also thanks to him."
