Trevoh Chalobah has completed a permanent transfer to Serie A side Como, ending an association with Chelsea that stretched back nearly two decades.

Chalobah joined Chelsea as an Under-9, following his elder brother Nathaniel into the club's Academy. He was part of the squad that won the UEFA Youth League in 2016 and scored in both the semi-final and final of consecutive FA Youth Cup campaigns in 2017.

After loan spells at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and Lorient, the defender established himself as a first-team regular shortly after turning 22. He marked his Chelsea debut by helping the club win the Super Cup against Villarreal on penalties in Belfast, then scored on his first Premier League appearance as Crystal Palace were beaten 3-0.

Chalobah started both the League Cup and FA Cup finals in his debut season and went on to win the Club World Cup. A thigh injury limited his involvement in 2023/24, though he returned to score against Tottenham as Chelsea won their final five league games to secure European qualification.

The 2024/25 campaign brought further honours. Chalobah played 90 minutes as Chelsea beat Real Betis 4-1 in the Conference League final in Wroclaw, before featuring five times — including starts in the quarter-final, semi-final and final — as the club lifted the expanded Club World Cup in the United States.

He also made his senior England debut during that period and was a late addition to the national squad for the World Cup, playing once as England finished third.

Last season Chalobah made 47 appearances, more than any other Chelsea central defender, and scored three goals. He now moves to Como to begin the next stage of his career in Italy.
