Alexander Isak scored in Liverpool's 3-2 pre-season defeat to AS Monaco at Anfield on Sunday, his second appearance of the summer programme.
The striker opened the scoring with a clinical finish in the 16th minute, before a combination involving Isak and Florian Wirtz added a second for Andoni Iraola's side around the half-hour mark.
Monaco fought back through goals from Aleksandr Golovin and Mika Biereth, with Paris Brunner's late header completing the turnaround for the visitors.
"It was good. Really nice to be back at home, back in front of the fans and get some more minutes into the legs," Isak said after the match.
On his physical condition, the No.9 expressed confidence in his trajectory. "I feel good, I feel good. Every game hopefully should take me to a better fitness level. I think today felt better than last game and hopefully the next game feels better than today. That's what pre-season is for – building."
Isak also noted the uncertain authorship of Liverpool's second goal, scored jointly with Wirtz. "I think we agreed, me and Flo, that we both got a touch on the ball. It felt like I was on the ball. I don't really know."
The Sweden international spoke positively about working under new head coach Iraola. "I feel like the spirit is good in the group and we're all working hard to make things work. We're going to make sure that we're ready for the start."
