Victor Munoz joined his Liverpool teammates for the first time on Wednesday, completing his first training session at the AXA Training Centre after arriving as a World Cup winner with Spain.
The winger completed his transfer to Anfield from Osasuna in June and cut short his post-tournament holiday to begin pre-season preparations ahead of schedule.
"It was an unforgettable experience out there at the World Cup. It was something I had dreamed of from a very young age and to be honest, something I never thought I would experience in my life," Munoz said. "However, I'm very conscious that that is behind me now and I come here full of intention for Liverpool FC."
Munoz described his transfer as a rapid process, one he discussed with his family while still on duty with Spain in the United States. "Straight away there were no doubts that it was a great move for me," he said.
The forward cited head coach Andoni's direct approach as a key factor in his decision. "He rightly pointed out that I am quite a young player, I'm here as a professional and he is going to help me to develop, and develop within and for this great club and in this mythical stadium, Anfield," Munoz said.
Munoz believes the Liverpool manager's tactical setup suits his strengths. "His style, it is well known already that he likes to play with open wingers on both sides and to build this constant and intense pressure," he said. "I think that fits perfectly with my skill set."
The 23-shirt signing did not feature in any matches during Spain's World Cup campaign but said the tournament's training environment kept him in good physical shape. He indicated he was ready to feature against AS Monaco at Anfield on Sunday if selected.
"I come here full of ambition. I have a lot to give to the team and I'm sure the team are going to help bring out the best in me," Munoz added.
