Kostas Tsimikas wore the captain's armband for the first time in his Liverpool career during the club's pre-season victory over Sunderland in Nashville. The Greek left-back inherited the captaincy after Joe Gomez was forced off with a knock early in the match at GEODIS Park.
"Some moments become memories forever. First time as captain. An honor beyond words," Tsimikas posted on Instagram after the game.
Tsimikas, 29, has been at Liverpool since joining from Olympiacos in 2020. He has operated as backup left-back throughout his time at the club.
