Liverpool have confirmed the appointment of Alejandro Rosalen as their new first-team goalkeeping coach. The 49-year-old Spaniard joins Andoni Iraola's backroom staff at Anfield.

Rosalen replaces Xavi Valero, who has left the club following a second spell in 2025-26.

The new appointment arrives with extensive experience in the role. His most recent position was at Napoli, where he worked from 2021 until this summer and contributed to two Serie A title wins — in 2022-23 and 2024-25.

Prior to Napoli, Rosalen spent eight years at Fiorentina. That followed a single season with Hungarian club Videoton.

Rosalen began his coaching career in Valencia's academy, where he also spent eight years.
