France head coach Zinedine Zidane praised Liverpool defender Jeremy Jacquet following a 1-1 draw with Italy in the UEFA Nations League on Friday.
Jacquet, 21, played the full 90 minutes — his second senior cap for Les Bleus. He had made his debut four days earlier in a 1-0 win away to Belgium.
"Very good. Very, very good. Brave," Zidane told reporters when asked about the centre-back's display. "He wasn't afraid to come out a long way. Very good in the duels. He was, once again, very good. I said it four times."
Jacquet has started the 2026-27 season in strong form at club level, featuring in every Liverpool match before the international break and earning a nomination for September's Premier League Player of the Month award.
Reflecting on his first call-up to France's senior squad, Jacquet said: "Better than I imagined. To train with all these great players, it's just a great pleasure. I'm just trying to make the most of every moment."
