Tarkowski praises Barry after Everton beat Ipswich 1-0

Everton captain James Tarkowski praised striker Thierno Barry following Saturday's 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town, crediting the forward's development and his own inadvertent role in the winning goal.

Tarkowski told evertontv he had been impressed by Barry's progress this season, while also reflecting on the team's defensive record so far in the campaign.

"We take a lot of pride in our defensive strength," Tarkowski said, highlighting the collective effort behind the clean sheet against Ipswich.

The Everton skipper also commented on a controversial offside decision against Ipswich during the match, describing the VAR verdict as a matter of common sense.

Everton's 1-0 win moves the club forward in the Premier League standings, with Tarkowski's leadership both on and off the pitch central to their early-season form.
