Morgan Rogers played a key role as England opened their Nations League campaign with a 2-0 victory over Czechia in Prague on Monday, with Shim Mheuka also scoring for Chelsea's younger sides on a productive day for the club's internationals.

Rogers, starting for Thomas Tuchel's side at the Fortuna Arena, came close to opening the scoring himself around the 15th minute, curling an effort against the far post after turning inside the penalty area. Follow-up attempts from Elliot Anderson and Bukayo Saka were both blocked.

Czechia were reduced to 10 men when Pavel Sulc was dismissed following a VAR review of his challenge on Anderson, though England did not find the breakthrough until after half-time.

Anthony Gordon headed home Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross shortly after the restart to break the deadlock. Rogers then contributed to England's second goal in the 69th minute, with his involvement in the penalty area leaving the ball loose for Harry Kane, who finished low into the corner.

England next travel to Croatia on Saturday before hosting Czechia at Wembley the following Tuesday.

Earlier on Monday, Mheuka scored after just nine minutes as England Under-20s defeated France 2-1 in Spain. The Chelsea striker, currently on loan at Celtic, controlled a long pass from goalkeeper Oliver Whatmuff with his chest before driving forward and finishing past Mathys Niflore from outside the area. Mikey Moore doubled the lead five minutes later. Fellow Chelsea loanee Jesse Derry, spending the season at Sporting CP, came on as a substitute in the 59th minute. Prosper Peter pulled one back for France, but England held on for their second successive U20 Euro Elite League win.

Also in Spain, Chelsea's Chizaram Ezenwata and Reggie Walsh came off the bench in the 70th minute as England Under-19s beat Norway 2-1 in Marbella. Williams-Barnett and Rodriguez had put England two goals ahead before the interval, with Norway reducing the deficit shortly after the restart. England face the United States on Friday.

Looking ahead, Alfie Osborne is in line to feature for Scotland Under-19s against Ukraine in La Nucia on Wednesday, with kick-off at 10am UK time. Calvin Diakite, Jashayde Greenwood and Gabriel Sambou are all in England Under-18s' squad for their UEFA Friendship Cup fixture against Korea Republic in Nyon, Switzerland, at the same time.
