Jordan Pickford reached 100 Premier League clean sheets during Everton's draw at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, becoming only the fifth English goalkeeper to reach the milestone.

Everton manager David Moyes highlighted the achievement in his matchday programme notes ahead of Tuesday's Carabao Cup third-round tie against Wolves at Hill Dickinson Stadium. "He was only the fifth English goalkeeper to reach that milestone and it put him alongside some really good names," Moyes wrote.

Pickford joins an exclusive group that includes Nigel Martyn, David James, David Seaman and Joe Hart. Martyn, who is well-known to Everton supporters, accumulated 137 Premier League clean sheets in total, a significant portion of which came during his time at the club.

The goalkeeper also received the Premier League's Save of the Month award for a stop against Crystal Palace in the same week. Moyes credited Pickford's defenders and teammates for contributing to the clean-sheet tally but noted the save award was Pickford's personal achievement.

The point at Tottenham extended Everton's positive start to the season. Moyes acknowledged his side faced sustained pressure for the opening 20 minutes at Spurs before stabilising and securing a result at a ground he described as "a difficult hunting ground for us" over many years.

Everton now face Wolves, who are competing in the Championship this season after relegation from the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup. It is Everton's first fixture in a three-game week this season. The sides met at the same stage of last season's competition at Molineux. Wolves are managed by Cesar Peixoto.
