Manchester City have made 10 changes to their starting lineup for Sunday's Premier League home fixture against Sunderland, with Enzo Maresca reverting largely to his first-choice side after rotating heavily in midweek.

Phil Foden is the only absentee from the team that faced Manchester United, serving the second match of a three-game ban following his red card in the win at Old Trafford. Iliman Ndiaye, who impressed in that 1-0 derby victory, takes his place.

Jérémy Doku is named among the substitutes for the first time since sustaining an injury in the Community Shield opener against Arsenal.

The back four sees Rúben Dias captain the side alongside Marc Guéhi in central defence, with Joško Gvardiol and Matheus Nunes at full-back. Elliot Anderson, formerly of Newcastle, starts in midfield alongside Enzo Fernández, while Rayan Cherki supports Erling Haaland centrally with Ndiaye and Antoine Semenyo on the flanks.

City moved to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday without kicking a ball, after Arsenal suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brighton. A fifth consecutive league win would put Maresca's side three points clear ahead of an extended international break running until mid-October.

Maresca, however, is focused solely on the task at hand and is wary of Sunday's opponents.
