Man City host Sunderland in Premier League on 20 September

Manchester City face Sunderland in the Premier League on Sunday, 20 September, with kick-off at the Etihad Stadium set for 14:00 UK time.

The match will be broadcast live in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports Premier League. International viewers can check local listings via livesoccertv.com.

Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris was appointed in June 2024 and has since transformed the club. The Frenchman guided the Black Cats back to the Premier League in his first season, then secured a seventh-place finish and UEFA Europa League qualification — the club's first European football in 53 years.

Le Bris places a strong emphasis on defensive organisation and set-pieces, including the long-throw.

The two sides met twice in the previous season. City won 3-0 at the Etihad in December 2025, with goals from Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and Phil Foden. The return fixture at the Stadium of Light on New Year's Day ended goalless.

City manager Enzo Maresca spoke to the media on Thursday, 17 September, following the club's 5-0 Carabao Cup victory over Norwich.
