Alexander Isak scored just before the hour mark to give Liverpool a 1-0 Premier League victory at Bournemouth on Sunday, securing three points on the south coast.

The striker converted from inside the area after Cody Gakpo beat two defenders down the right flank, drove forward and crossed into the box. The ball looped to Isak via Florian Wirtz under pressure, and the forward fired into the net to spark celebrations in the away end.

Manager Andoni Iraola made three changes for the trip to Vitality Stadium, restoring Gakpo, Milos Kerkez and Alexis Mac Allister to the starting line-up from last weekend's draw at Fulham.

The first half produced few clear-cut chances. Dominik Szoboszlai went close with two free-kicks, while Alisson Becker made a brilliant save to deny Evanilson's flick from a Marcus Tavernier cross. Bradley Barcola also had a deflected effort saved by Dorde Petrovic.

Bournemouth pushed for an equaliser in the second half, with Ryan Christie twice going close, but Liverpool's defence held firm. Alisson denied Evanilson with a sharp stop to his left as the hosts pressed late.

Substitute Lewis Koumas had the final opportunity of the afternoon, curling an effort at Petrovic in the closing stages, as Liverpool saw out the result.
