Kai Havertz has named his goal in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain as the best moment of his Arsenal career, speaking during a Reddit Ask Me Anything session with supporters.
The German striker scored Arsenal's opener just six minutes into the match, putting the club ahead despite their eventual defeat. "The Champions League final, even though we lost the game, I feel like I never had a feeling like this before in my life," Havertz said.
"The emotional feeling after I scored the goal, after the celebration, the goosebumps, it was just incredible. In that minute, I think that was the best I've ever felt in my life on a football pitch, so I think that was my favourite one."
Havertz ranked his title-winning goal against Burnley on the final day of the Premier League season as his second favourite. "These two definitely are always going to be in my heart," he said.
The 29-shirt wearer has started the current season in strong form, scoring in three of Arsenal's first four competitive games — against Manchester City in the Community Shield, Coventry City, and Chelsea — leaving him level with captain Martin Odegaard as the club's top scorer.
Havertz also addressed his well-known habit of wearing long sleeves regardless of conditions, including during this summer's World Cup in temperatures above 40°C. "It's a superstition," he confirmed. "My head just always tells me to wear long sleeves, so I can't wear short sleeves anymore."
On the subject of team relationships, Havertz described defender Ben White as one of the best full-backs he has played with and a close personal friend since his 2023 arrival at the club. He also spoke warmly of striker Viktor Gyokeres, who joined from Sporting CP last summer. "He's just a top guy, funny guy. It just clicked from the first minute," Havertz said.
